The President is Missing by: Bill Clinton and James Patterson

“The President is Missing” was published June 4, 2018. I was eager to read this book for two reasons. One, a book by James Patterson combined with former President Bill Clinton just had to be good. Second, I was ready for something outside my regular paranormal genre. This book didn’t disappoint. My initial thought of the title was that the President of the United States would actually go really missing by abduction. This wasn’t the case. Instead he purposely goes into hiding to work hard with a team of computer experts from the United States and alliance countries. This team also includes one part of the team who initially created a computer virus that would send the United States into an apocalyptic “Dark Ages.”
While reading this novel I had to take mini breaks. The thrill was constant. The horrors of what could happen felt all too real. The messages of real American problems was also quite legitimate like the following, “And I know that there are cops who think of themselves as good cops but, even if unconsciously, see a black man in a T-shirt and jeans as more threatening than a white man dressed the same way” (27%). Powerful statements like this were found throughout the book. This phrase makes me believe former President Bill Clinton wrote that part.
I won’t give out the ending but will say this is a must read, especially for those who enjoy political and thriller novels. I also hope Bill Clinton continues on the path of thriller writing.
